Hey everyone. We have decided to use this blog to document our travels to B.C. Canada, Alaska and the inside passage. We have a few months of preparation before we go. We anticipate our departure from the Columbia River somewhere around May 13th. The tides will be favorable for the 190 mile open ocean trip from our dock to Neah Bay WA. IF the weather is good we will leave Astoria very early in the morning and with a chevron run (lots of fuel) we should be in Neah Bay 13-14 hours later.
So far our itinerary is in jello, meaning we will not really have a schedule. We do plan to spend a week in the San Juan Islands, then off to Sidney BC. From there we go north. Not sure how far we will make it this summer. May or may not make it Skagway AK.
Today we are at MCYC for the annual St. Patty's day party for the weekend. More importantly we got and passed our USCG safety inspection, so now I have added a new sticker to the side window with all the other required stickers, like the Washington State Marine Park and U.S. Customs.
In future postings we will try to keep the pictures to 10 or less.-ASD
